Abstract:

In this work, the effect of the pressure on mechanically alloyed orthorhombic nanostructured Bi3Ni (Pnma structure) was studied by in situ angle-dispersive X-ray diffraction (ADXRD) up to 30 GPa. The influence of pressure on the structural properties was followed with the aid of the Rietveld Method. The lattice parameters and unit cell volume to a third-order Birch-Murnaghan equation of state for several values of pressure. Thus, the bulk modulus (B0), its first derivative (B'), and linear moduli along the a, b and c axes were determined. Its stability under high pressure conditions was investigated using the analysis of the pair distribution function (PDF).
